Quality Control
Natanz Steel Co. management, including quality control departments, laboratories, quality assurance intends to continuously improve quality in the framework of quality policies of the company aiming to bring about customer satisfaction.
* Quality control department:
Taking advantage of educated and experienced people, this department investigates all the inputs and outputs of the factory including raw materials, components and products.
Subordinate departments of quality control in Natanz Steel Industrial Complex are as follows:
Steel production quality control:
In this departments, quality control technicians control the arrived scrap iron and cooperate with the production department in steel production during the steel production process by sampling and analyzing molten steel with the desired rate and ultimately issue the casting license after approval of the final product. At the next stage, the produced ingot will be controlled in terms of dimensional parameters as well as metallurgical defects (crack, mac, offal, etc.) to be receipted and delivered to the storage after the approval.
Any product that does not conform to the type of the desired steel, will be classified into other steel categories if it could fall into them, otherwise, it will be delivered to the scrap warehouse as the waste ingot.
Rolling line bar quality control:
It includes rolling lines of RM1 and RM2 and RM3. In this department, quality control inspectors inspect the arrived ingot (including the ingot produced by steel production department and the ingot arrived at the factory) to be used in the production line if confirmed. At this stage, the technical documents of the arrived ingot will be investigated and it will be sampled and analyzed so that the conformity of the ingot with request be reviewed. During the production, quality control inspectors have permanent presence in the production line and inspect both production process and the product according to the respective standards and the product will be sampled to perform mechanical and metallographic tests and chemical analysis and will be sent to the laboratory to be tested. If the product is confirmed, it will be approved and delivered to the warehouse; otherwise while informing the production department to remove the non-compliance, it will also be determined that if the non-compliant product can be classified in another category, it will be classified in that group, otherwise it will be delivered as waste to the waste storage and will be used as scrap iron in steel making.
The department has managed to achieve the national standard certificate 3132 from Iran Standard and Industrial Research Institution to produce ribbed rebar.
Quality control of the arrived parts:
All parts produced or repaired outside the factory, will be inspected by the quality control department after arriving at the factory and before getting receipted in terms of compliance with the desired demands which have been informed by the applicant department in writing to be delivered to the applicant department after confirmation. In case of any non-compliance, the part shall be returned to the manufacturer to remove the non-compliance.
Laboratory:
The following laboratory companies were established in Natanz Steel and Iron Mill Co. to meet all laboratory needs and were equipped with the most modern devices to complete the company's control cycle.

1 - Calibration and Instrumentation Laboratory
In this laboratory, temperature and pressure measurement equipment are calibrated.
2 - Metallography Laboratory
In this laboratory, in cases where there is a need to determine and review structure and metallography of the product or the production line parts, this will be done using the modern equipment manufactured by OLYMPUS Co. in Japan.
3 - Laboratory mechanical
This laboratory is equipped with modern universal test devices for tension, bending and pressure, a bending test device, a pressure test device as well as a hardness tester and while controlling the mechanical properties of the product, conducts these tests (if needed) on the production line parts as well.
4. Quantometery Laboratory
This laboratory is equipped with two quantometers made by SPECTRO Co. in Germany to analyze steel in all simple carbon and alloy categories and meets the needs of all departments of the factory to determine the chemical analysis of the raw materials, products and the production line parts.
5 - Chemical Laboratory (water and oil)
In this laboratory, the quality of water, oil and grease used in production lines will be examined at the entrance to the factory and during use.
6 - Nondestructive Testing Laboratory
In this laboratory, safety of the production lines parts or the parts arrived at the factory will be tested by PT and MT equipment through nondestructive methods of testing PT penetrant liquids and MT magnetic penetrant particles.
